Hello everyone!
My skin has been crazy this year, with the occasional breakouts here and there, my primary concern has not only been my acne scars but my acnes too. I started having a eeny tiny fear of lasers in Singapore because of my prior experience with certain aesthetics clinic in SG, which not only proved to be ineffective with their acne scar treatments, but also caused my skin to breakout. Oh, and I paid for those laser sessions so I definitely felt the pinch in my pocket as it came out from my savings. So I feel all of you who're going thru acne/acne scarring just like me! (fyi i spent more than 10k on aesthetics lasers/skincare/facials over the past 5years alone T_T)
Okay, now that i'm done touching up on my skin condition, I would like to continue on my post on 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery. I've been with 1 Aesthetics over the year but stopped with my visits due to their renovations, which explains the breakout. Now that they're done with their renovations, I'm glad to be able to have my laser sessions with them again!

This time round, we had a skin
examination by Dr Wan Chee Kwang and he has suggested for me to continue with
my Pico Laser treatments.
What is a Fractional Picosecond Laser?
Like the ever-popular Q-Switched Laser,
the Pico Laser (or picosecond laser), is a non-ablative
laser that is mainly used for pigmentation
removal, acne scars, skin rejuvenation and brightening, and tattoo removal.
The Pico Laser works in ultrashort picosecond laser pulses instead of nanosecond pulses in a Q-Switched Laser.
This means that the pulse duration of a
Pico Laser is 100x shorter than a Q-Switched Laser, and more laser shots can be
fired by a Pico Laser in the same amount of time compared to a Q-Switched
Laser.
The shorter pulse duration also means
that the skin heats up less and this reduces
the risk of hyperpigmentation which can sometimes form due to laser
procedures.
What can we expect from a Fractional
Picosecond Laser?
●
Pigmentation reduction
●
Acne marks clearance
●
Brighter and tighter
skin due to collagen stimulation
●
Reduction in fine lines
and scarring
●
Pores minimizing

As my acne and scars are quite bad this
time round, numbing cream was needed. I was prepared by the staff with a gentle
cleanser to remove any debris and dirt from my face. Numbing cream is then
applied to the face to reduce the pain from the laser
The Pico laser is then done by Dr Wan
Chee Kwang alongside their cryo freeze machine, which blows cold air onto the
laser focused spots to help cool and soothe the skin at the same time.
Frankly speaking, the procedure this time
round was a little more painful as
compare to my previous treatment due to my active acne present. However, the
heat from the laser helps to kill the acne bacteria present and the acne
started drying up in a matter of a few days! The cryo freeze machine did help
in reducing the uncomfortable sensation felt throughout the session. Overall,
the pain factor would be a 4/10?
The laser was done on my whole face and
focused on my problematic spots. The goggles helps to prevent any damage to my
eyes :)
After the treatment, a soothing mask was
applied to my face immediately to reduce the redness
All in all, the treatments i've done with
1Aesthetics Medical & Surgery has always shown results. What entices me to
go back each time is the exception attention to detail and concern by Dr Wan
Chee Kwang, but also the friendliness of the staff there. If price is your
concern, I can assure you that the price of 1Aesthetics laser packages are
definitely more affordable compared to its competitors out there. (you can do a
google search if you don't believe me).
Personally, I can't wait for my future
sessions with 1Aesthetics and to continue seeing positive results from my
treatments there! If you're facing acne and acne scars concerns like me, or
you're looking for an aesthetics clinics for any dermatologic related concerns
(anti-aging, fillers etc), feel free to give them a try as they're really good!
